THERAPY SERVICES IN SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS
INDIVIDUAL
At times, life may seem like a maze for which direction is uncertain. Yet, in accepting life as journey, there are no wrong turns. In individual therapy, we can first look to alleviate a sense of being alone or overwhelmed. I understand and will provide guidance for conditions of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and interpersonal conflicts. These concerns and many life adjustments can be addressed by reflecting upon one’s life story as well as learning coping skills and problem-solving for the here and now. I am trained in a variety of therapy processes that will enable you to adopt new behaviors, discover transformative beliefs and attitudes for an empowered life.
MARRIAGE AND COUPLES
Your primary relationship is the most important one in your life and I can support you as a couple. Are you having difficulty connecting and want to improve your communication? I use a the Gottman Marriage Therapy Method; through this intervention method, I have observed couples recover from the negative effects of affairs, trauma and working through addiction recovery. My role is to coach couples through reclaiming friendship, finding your voice to speak authentically with one another and claiming a new relationship with the same person.
CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS AND FAMILY
Children and adolescents are inseparable from the context of family. I never lose sight of the fact that while a therapist could see your child once a week for a period of time, you are the one guiding them to adulthood. For the most effective treatment, I want to meet with you individually and in sessions with your youth. I will also meet individually with your child or teen, so they can freely express their thoughts and feelings. The goals may be improving self-esteem, learning effective communication and coping skills; these are all critical for concerns with anger, depression, anxiety, as well as situations of being bullied, parents going through divorce, grades dropping or the pressures for high achievers. I have twenty years working as a social worker in Child and Adolescent mental health and I am best suited to work with adolescents through eighteen years (ages 16 - 18). With younger children, I can work with you individually or in a family systems method in which the whole family attends.
